The Structure of the Union and Related Governance
The union structure is built on the fundamental premise of the right to vote, as well as have a voice, on issues related to your livelihood and welfare.
The most important venue for conducting union business are the general membership meetings held every second Saturday of the month. Here the executive and members can raise issues with the whole membership and suggest courses of action that may be voted on. The union executive is responsible for administering the business of the local and to involve as many members as possible through the sharing of duties and responsibilities. The Executive Board is comprised of all officers except Trustees and meets at least once every month prior to the General Membership Meeting. The duties of the Executive are set out in the 382 Bylaws.
